A six-team playoff, with the top two getting 1st rd byes. In this system, Cincinnati would host Boise St. and TCU would host Florida. The higher ranked team to come from these games would play Texas and the lower ranked team would play Alabama, both on New Year's Day. The winners of these two games would then play for the National Championship the Sunday before the Super Bowl.
